| Under supervision of Geotechnical Professional Engineer, conducts laboratory projects for Construction Services and Geotechnical Engineering Departments. Supervises soil, aggregate, asphalt and concrete testing activities; reviews, records and interprets test data using GINT and WINSAS soil testing software, performs data calculations using Excel, and prepares reports for departmental managers. Applies appropriate scientific methodologies to ensure accurate test results and evaluate material testing protocols for concrete, soil, asphalt and masonry samples and record and report test results as required by state and federal law. Analyzes and oversees all soil boring and geotechnical field testing operations and prepare reports on these activities; helps supervise and train laboratory technicians, assigns and delegates testing duties in accordance with American Association of State of Highway Official (AASHTO) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. Reviews lab quality assurance and control documents and maintains and calibrates lab and field testing instruments and equipment; and assists with upkeep and training in radiation safety issues |
