A Message from our President
Dear Fellow Employee Owners;
I am sure you have heard these sayings – “Fate is largely what you make of it”, “don’t cry over spilt milk”, “you reap what you sow”, “when it gets tough the tough get going, etc. All of these sayings tell us that we can control the situation we are in and those that we will be in.
Over the last year I have heard people say that things are tough since the country and the world is in a deep recession and therefore we are not doing well etc. First nothing will remain the same – again “Change is a Constant”. Therefore, just like the clever mice “Sniff & Scurry” in the book “Who moved my cheese?” noticed that cheese was being moved, found new cheese and planned for it. This was contrary to the mice “Hem & Haw” who cried because the cheese was moved and there was nothing that they could do. I am glad to say that CTL was the mouse that was the clever mouse that was a combination of Sniff & Scurry.
Due to the cooperative efforts of the employees our outlook for 2010 is very good. A number of contracts have been garnered by many of the branches. West Virginia office had the best year so far in 2009 and anticipates another good year in 2010. Indiana has been awarded new contracts by INDOT and the City of Indianapolis among others. Wapakoneta has a number of school projects for next year. I am sure that we will continue to do good work to Wow the Client. However, we need to continue this effort by being effective and efficient as well to become profitable.
Proactive response where we direct CTL’s continued growth is the best approach. To do this we need to recognize that providing value to the Client is the most important. Understanding the needs of the client and satisfying that need should be the fundamental tenet of all of us. This requires us to Listen to the Client and respond appropriately.
You may be wondering the purpose of the sayings at the beginning of this letter. The other three paragraphs describe CTL’s attitude and performance that follow the sayings. Thank you for a job well done.
I wish you all Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
C.K. Satyapriya
