“Only those who risk going too far will ever know how far they can go” – Anonymous

"Dear Fellow Employee Owners"

The above quotation is something we all should try and adapt in our life. I am sure there are many more corollary sayings to this one. Risk is relative and is based on each of our individual paradigms. As a part of every day life we all take risks. Many of them are taken unconsciously, such as crossing a road or driving a car; however, if we are to improve, then we need to take risks.

When we were small we risked injury to walk. Even though babies fall they do not stop trying to walk. Similarly, when we take risks, sometimes we will fail. Many times we will learn more from our failure than from our successes. The important aspect is to learn from failures.

I wrote about BHADs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) in a previous newsletter. This goal setting, whether it is for individuals or for CTL as a whole, is necessary and will be a risk. However, the more we plan and organize ourselves the greater chance the risk will have positive results. The most important aspect is to set long-term goals and go after them.

Seven years back we all took a big risk in taking on debt through ESOP to buy majority stock. We have successfully forded this risk. Please accept my Congratulations and Thank you for a job well done. We are all beneficiaries of the hard work and diligence. We need to continue on this path of success. This we can achieve if we set BHAGs and work together as a TEAM. Remember, we are stronger and more capable when we work as a Team than as individuals. Therefore, I have chosen Teamwork as the Theme for 2006.

Sincerely,

C.K. Satyapriya
President & CEO
