CTL Engineering’s Cleveland Office Installs a
New
Break Machine
Our Cleveland office has purchased a new break machine, The CM-4000. This unit has a maximum compression capacity of 400,000 psi. It will allow our Cleveland lab to break high performance concrete cylinders up to 14000 psi. The vertical opening of 18.375” will allow us to break masonry prisms in accordance with ASTM C-1314.
The new machine includes a Digital Load Indicating System, the LX-5000 that can send reports directly to a printer or download them to a remote computer.
Our old machine will be integrated into the new system and will benefit from the advanced hydraulic system and the digital loading. The pre –programming feature reduces the possibility of data entry errors.
The machine will be put right to work on the new Fulton Road Bridge Project. The increased efficiency of the new machine coupled with our concrete maturity testing equipment, will be key components in allowing our customer to get the job completed on, or ahead of schedule.
Rick Lake Department 2 Manager for Cleveland said, “This machine represents a significant upgrade to the services we can provide for our customers in the Cleveland market”
