The Geotechnical Department in CTL Engineering’s Morgantown office purchased a GeoVISION, Jr., which is the smallest diameter borehole color camera. It is 1 5/8" in diameter so it can be used in borings of 2" or greater. It has the ability to view vertically as it is lowered down the boring or horizontally as well.

It is guided by CPVC piping and has a working depth of 300 feet. It is self-contained and can work from either AC/DC power or 12-volt car systems.

One of the greatest features is that the camera has the ability to record on a VCR or a CD.

The system can be used for caisson inspection as well as in mining applications. The system has the added features of being portable and operable by a single person.
