Imagine arriving to a jobsite at 6 am to find
out that the 400-yard concrete pour is still
going in spite of the cold temperature and small
snowflakes falling. For most people, after an
8-10 hour day, the day would be done. But after
that concrete pour, there are still cylinder
pick-ups, one of which is three hours away round
trip, that still has to be done today.
In a continual striving effort for employee
recognition, CTL has chartered a new program
to recognize some of the hardest working individuals
in the company. Most technicians work day in
and day out with little recognition of their
achievement and importance within the company.
These individuals sometimes work 60-80 hour
weeks travelling from all corners of our companies
reach and back again. Their performance is what
is seen first in our client's eyes. In acknowledgement
to their dedication and hard work, CTL has decided
to spearhead this program to honor these individuals
for a job well done. Columbus' Construction
Services Department has been active in the program
since February and we hope that through our
demonstration as well as trial and error, the
program will be implemented in all other Construction
Services Departments throughout the company.
Walt Rough - February Technician of the
Month |
|
|
Walt started with CTL in April 2004.
He graduated from the University of
Toledo in May 2003 with a Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering. During
his time of going to school he interned
with Toltest, Inc. based in Toledo,
Ohio. Walt's efforts and attention to
detail on the Target - Whitehall and
Target - Worthington are just some of
the reasons why Elford and Target are
pleased with our performance on the
Target projects here in Columbus. Walt
has also been instrumental on our project
with Bird Houk Collaborative performing
pavement analysis on eleven schools
for the Dublin City School System.

Larry Griffith - March Technician of the Month
|
|
| |
|
Larry started with CTL in June of 1989. He has
an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering and
had two and a half years experience in quality
control and testing before coming to CTL. He
is currently NICET Level 1 certified in asphalt,
concrete, and soil. Larry's performance has
excelled over the years and has definitely raised
the standard of expectations of how a technician
should perform. He has been the lead technician
on such sites as Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing
Facility, Owens Corning Fiberglass Landfill
project, Dominion Dresden Energy Facility, and
many more sites too numerous to name.
